... I didn't know how to call this, can you tell?

Well let me start telling I really LIKE this drawing. One of the few in my gallery that make me kinda proud. :painter:
It's made traditionally, with pencils and a pen. I just added the symbols with Photoshop. Because I was too lazy to draw them and white void background was annoying to see. Or, if you prefer:
:cough: "I wanted to express a concept of digital versus real, life behind a computer, THROUGH a computer... :blahblah:"

This has a peculiar creation progress. It was made in 2 days.

First day I was following a reference for the pose, and trying to change it in the concept of "awesome man" I scribbled in an old meme deviation, a bit more "realistic". To draw a good looking man (in my opinion), simply.

I was listening to a very sad Radiohead song, and I kinda followed the mood I guess.
It turned out quite good (or well, I liked it). I was a lot scared to spoil it, to tell the truth.

Concept and lineart:

Then, on a completely different day, I continued drawing it and I corrected some stuff, colored and inked it.
I had a completely different mindset then, I was thinking about some crazy happy trolly stuff I did with a friend, and how sometimes I miss the times when we could say stupid things everyday.

So I mindlessly started to tinker with the drawing, until, in a last glance, I realized it kinda looked like a cartoonish version of that friend. Not too much, but enough to make me go :stinkeye: for a moment. Well, it's not like it's a bad thing :XD: it just was fun to notice.

I guess my drawings sometimes are a lot more personal than they look like.
And than I meant to make them :XD:

For starters, beautiful piece! You have a very tender but strong style. I'm really fond of how you accomplished her hair - it's a nice middle ground between individual strands and overall texture.

With your overall skill level I think you can improve on your colored pencil handling. You have nice shadows and colors but - particularly in the arm - a bit of inconsistency in direction, leading to some streakiness. This can be remedied simply by taking time to work in small areas, lightly laying down layers in the same direction. It's a slow process but results in more consistent coloring. If you're interested in trying out a new tool and want a bit of a shortcut, I'm a huge fan of using Prismacolor's colorless blenders. They're basically a colored pencil without pigment and would allow you to make your coloring more bold and smooth. =]

I'm also not too fond of the addition of text at the bottom of the image. The slanted patterning on the background is great and matches the overall "feel" and message, but the fading white and concentration of symbols at the bottom doesn't really fit in. I'd suggest simply cropping the bottom off and adding some text symbols in white or gray directly over the darkness of her outfit. Perhaps spread them out a bit more as you've done in the background too. This would integrate them more into the piece rather than having them appear as a footnote at the bottom.

Overall, excellent work!
